Dave Marks

Chief Technology Officer

Dave Marks is Recurrent’s Chief Technology Officer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s technological strategy and execution. He is responsible for Recurrent’s technology architecture and vision. He manages the full breadth of teams, technologies, and partnerships needed to support the business across AI initiatives, analytics, product, engineering, SEO, and IT for all media brands. He initially joined the company in 2023 as SVP, Technology before being promoted to CTO in 2024. 

Dave brings more than 25 years of experience in product engineering within a range of companies across the tech sector. Most recently he was the VP of Engineering at Nfinite, a leading e-merchandising platform, and spent nearly two years as VP of Customer Solutions Engineering at Fastly, one of the world’s fastest global edge cloud platforms.

Prior to Fastly, Dave spent six and half years as an Engineering leader at Bleacher Report. He joined the company in 2014 following the acquisition of his startup content and analytics company, StatMilk, which continues to power all stats and scores experiences across B/R. During his tenure at B/R he provided leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the engineering department including product development, infrastructure, and operations. Dave was responsible for rebuilding the engineering organization and tech stack from the ground up, while ensuring continued stability, industry-leading performance, and an accelerated product development process. 

Dave also spent almost a decade at LexisNexis Risk Solutions where, as Senior Architect, he led the re-platforming, consolidation, and modernization of systems and software in support of the $4 billion acquisition of ChoicePoint, Inc. by Reed Elsevier (parent company of LexisNexis).

Dave was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and studied Computer Science at the University of Florida before founding his first company. After nearly a decade in the Bay Area, he relocated with his family to his home state in 2022.
