Leading Military Spouse Event Tackles Issues Impacting Military Families
Tampa, FL (February 10, 2025) —MilSpouseFest, the leading event series for modern military spouses, will make its debut in Tampa, Florida! Held on Thursday, February 13th, from 9:00 a.m. EST to 3 p.m. EST at the Tampa Garden Club, the event will unite over 200 military spouses to address the pain points military families face locally and across the United States.
Presented by USAA, the event features speakers who will address major topics such as employment opportunities, mental health, food insecurity, financial readiness, and much more. The military spouse-centered series will make eight stops nationwide in 2025 to support and bridge the gap for military spouses across all service branches.
In partnership with the city, the Chamber of Commerce, Blue Star Families, Military Spouse Jobs, MacDill Air Force Base, and all surrounding Coast Guard units, MilSpouseFest Tampa will feature vital resources for local spouses to navigate military life successfully. Speakers include local leaders from Operation Healing Forces, the Military Family Readiness Center, the Joint Special Forces University, and more. Attendees will also have a chance to win a shopping spree and room makeover with Moving With The Military.
This year, MilSpouseFest launched the Mighty MilSpouse Award to recognize local spouses who give back to their military and/or veteran community in a meaningful way. The Tampa honoree will be announced at the event. Each winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Military Influencer Conference in Atlanta this September, where the Mighty MilSpouse of the Year will be announced.
Though the conference will conclude at 3 p.m. EST, the team will welcome everyone back from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST for MilSpouse “After Hours” Reception. Headlining the event is country singer and Green Beret spouse Jessie G. In November, she sang the national anthem for the Green Bay Packers Thanksgiving Day game just on the heels of the release of Dress Blues, a song dedicated to the military community.
“Something that always made an impression on me as a military spouse was that this one uniform was worn for weddings, military balls, and many other formal events, but then it is also worn to funerals, and some service members are buried in their Dress Blues,” Jessie explained. “In the song specifically, the uniform is there from the beginning till the end, and it changes meaning as the story of the song develops.”Throughout MilSpouseFest, attendees will be celebrated for their service to this nation on the homefront. Both events will also provide military families access to valuable resources and networking opportunities to grow their career prospects and support systems.
