Leading Military Spouse Event Tackles Top Issues Impacting Military Families

Tacoma, WA (October 17, 2024) — MilSpouseFest, the leading event series for modern military spouses, will make its debut in Washington state on October 23rd. Held from 9:00 a.m. PST  to 2:30 p.m. PST at the American Lake Conference Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, MilSpouseFest Tacoma will bring together over 300 military spouses to address the pain points military families face locally and across the United States.  

Presented by USAA, the event features speakers addressing major topics such as employment opportunities, mental health, food insecurity, financial readiness, and much more. The military spouse-centered series will make six stops nationwide in 2024 to support and bridge the gap for military spouses across all service branches. In partnership with Joint Base Lewis-McChord, MilSpouseFest Tacoma will feature on-site daycare services for up to 30 children during the entirety of the event’s programming. 

MilSpouseFest Program Manager, Air Force veteran, and Air Force spouse Tiffany Orner remarked, “I’ve spent over a decade creating community, opportunity, and securing resources for military spouses. This is so much more than an event or one-day conference. It’s a movement to encourage, uplift, and provide tangible support to the military spouse community. There have been extraordinary moments through MilSpouseFest, but the most moving are when we are told spouses finally feel seen and understood, and we’re looking forward to doing that with families in Washington state for the first time.” 

Renowned comedian and Air Force Spouse Ashley Gutermuth will host the event. Beyond her acclaim as a comedian and winner of “The Tonight Show Seinfeld Challenge,” Ashley employs humor to underscore and address everyday military families’ pressing challenges.
