Matt Young is the Chief Revenue Officer of Recurrent. Matt helps lead Recurrent’s media portfolio and accelerates the growth of the business while ensuring the teams continue to build authentic experiences for their endemic communities. His core focuses are expanding business operations, identifying new revenue streams, and improving the models for monetization.
Matt has over 18 years of experience in marketing, sales, and operations and has managed hundreds of millions in annual revenue. He joined Recurrent from Motorsport Network (the largest media and technology company for motorsport enthusiasts) where he was EVP, Global Chief Revenue Officer. He oversaw all global commercial operations while helping propel them to significant YoY revenue growth.
Before Motorsport Network, he spent two years as VP of Verizon Media’s Entertainment division, doubling their revenue during his tenure. He joined Verizon in 2017 through its $4.48B acquisition of Yahoo!, where he was the Head of Programmatic. Previously, Yahoo! had acquired BrightRoll Inc., a leading video advertising technology platform, for $640M. Matt was one of BrightRoll’s early employees and oversaw their video ad exchange and demand-side platform.
Matt holds a BA in History and English from Dartmouth College, where he was also part of their Division I tennis team. He also holds an MFA from the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theatre Institute at Harvard University. He resides in the New York City area with his wife and two children.
