Kane Russell is the Head of Integration at Recurrent Ventures. His team has two focus areas: (1) usher newly-acquired brands to efficiently become fully operational under Recurrent, and (2) weave best practices identified in one publication into the others in the portfolio that would most stand to benefit. Integration at Recurrent follows a people-first approach, whereby we shape growth opportunities not only for brands, but also teams and individuals to reach their potential.
Kane’s experience prior to Recurrent includes more than ten years working in Silicon Valley to create predictable, investible, and scalable revenue engines for venture-backed startups. Under his leadership reporting directly to or as the CEO, his companies earned top-tier, Series A and beyond investment capital: Waterfall International from Vista Equity Partners and Upland Software; Thanx Inc. from Uncork Capital, Sequoia Capital, and Icon Ventures; Halo Neuroscience from Andreesen-Horowitz, Lux Capital, Jazz Ventures, and Texas Pacific Group; and Thync Global, Inc. from Noosphere Ventures. He also co-founded the digital marketing agency A Known Quantity, which provides predictable-revenue growth strategic counsel and implementation services to clients like MaxPro, Colnago, Asensei, and others.
Prior to his work in Silicon Valley, Kane served as a Technology Fellow at the World Bank focused on how to utilize mobile apps to enable financial services for the world’s poorest communities, Ecuador National Director for the Harvard University Center for International Development NGO WorldTeach, and a 4th and 8th grade teacher and coach — fulfilling a promise to his childhood headmaster to come back and work at the elementary school he attended for 9 years.
Kane holds a BA in Philosophy from Dartmouth College, where he earned the Addison L. Winship scholarship for excellence in academics, athletics, and community service, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where he earned Beta Gamma Sigma recognition as being in the top 5% of his class. He resides in Oakland with his two sons.
