
James Zubok
James Zubok has over 20 years of experience in the Private Equity and Software industries. During his career, he has overseen the sale process, negotiations, and close of more than $250 million in transaction value with customers ranging from small companies to Global 2,000 companies.
He is the founder and Managing Partner of Respida Capital. Respida has completed multiple acquisitions onto a retail commerce platform, as well as several partial exits to and recapitalizations with top-tier software-focused private equity firms. James was an early investor and advisor to Mi9 Retail, a leading enterprise software system for retailers, wholesalers, and brands; as well as Wynshop, a leading software provider of e-commerce, fulfillment, and online and mobile ordering for grocers and other retailers. Respida is a control investor and James is Board Chair for Mi9 and Wynshop.
Previously, James was Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners from 2016-2020, during which he was co-head of Vista’s $560 million Endeavor Fund I for two years before working with Vista’s $7B Flagship fund.
After initially practicing patent law in New York, James transitioned to in-house General Counsel in the technology and private equity sectors. He spent more than 10 years with Vista-backed SER Solutions and Brainware as a member of the founding executive team, owner, and Board.
James holds an Engineering degree from Cooper Union in New York and a Law degree from St. John’s University. In addition to Recurrent, he is also on the Board at Mi9 Retail, Wynshop, Zeck, OpenPayd US, and Board Advisor STAX as well as several other software and technology companies.
